A mail order pharmacy located in Alabama is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead and ensure regulatory compliance. This position requires an active pharmacist license in both Illinois and Alabama, as these will govern PIC responsibilities. The role demands a professional who can maintain high standards in medication safety, operational procedures, and regulatory adherence within a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws for mail order operations
• Oversee and maintain pharmacy policies, SOPs, and quality assurance programs
• Monitor medication dispensing accuracy and patient safety protocols
• Handle Illinois PIC compliance documentation and reporting requirements
• Supervise pharmacy staff involved in mail order prescription fulfillment
• Manage controlled substances with strict DEA recordkeeping and reporting
• Prepare for regulatory inspections, audits, and implement corrective action plans
• Oversee proper medication storage, packaging, and shipment procedures
• Review and approve updates to SOPs and compliance documentation
• Serve as the primary liaison with state boards, accreditation bodies, and auditors

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Alabama (required)
• Additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are advantageous but not necessary
• Prior experience as a PIC or in a pharmacy leadership role
• Strong knowledge of mail order pharmacy regulations and workflows
• Ability to work independently and fulfill all PIC duties within an approximately 8-hour weekly schedule

Location:

• Position is based in Alabama with remote oversight of mail order pharmacy operations

Schedule:

• Approximately 8 hours per week, offering scheduling flexibility as long as all PIC responsibilities are met
