Job Title: Junior Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing manufacturing engineering support to facilitate the successful build, layout, and work processes of both new and existing production systems built at the Sun Test Systems plant. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve engineering/operation challenges and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position fixture design, analysis, 3D modeling, plant layout, line layout, process evaluation, machine programming, and testing. Position is 100% on-site at our Huntsville, Alabama plants.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, analyze, and document the build of products
• Incorporate ECRs into the build process
• Adhere to company revision and configuration management process
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support production and ensure design manufacturability
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IEC, NEC, and MIL-STDs
• Follow company quality and safety standards
• Develop and maintain Work Instructions, MBOMs, and routings
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and support business objectives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be a U.S. citizen and meet any other federal program requirements (CUI and ITAR)
• Proficient in Creo/Pro-E (or other 3D CAD Software) and Windchill
• Knowledge of Lean Methodologies
• Mechanically and Electrically Adept to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Ability to use shop equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
• Strong hands-on skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze design issues both in prototyping and production environments

Required Education and Experience

• Associates degree in technology, or a related field is required
• Will consider non-degreed, if relevant work experience acceptable to meet job qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience, with a focus on manufacturing engineering
