Substitute Custodian – Albertville City Schools (Alabama)

Spur, a digital staffing agency, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Substitute Custodian to support Albertville City Schools .

Position Overview

The ideal candidate understands the importance of cleanliness and facility security in a school environment. This role is responsible for maintaining school buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary learning environment. Custodians will also secure facilities by locking all doors and gates after use.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties as assigned by school administration.
• Keep school buildings and grounds clean and well-maintained.
• Clean and maintain assigned workspaces and equipment .
• Lock doors and gates after use and at the end of the workday to maintain security.
• Assist in seasonal grounds work and basic facility upkeep.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Follow district safety procedures .
• Assist with custodial tasks before and after special events , including weekends and evenings.
• Stock and restock supplies such as soap, sanitizer, and paper products .
• Disinfect surfaces to promote a healthy school environment .
• Perform other duties as assigned .

Requirements

• Ability to work on an on-call basis .
• Friendly and approachable attitude.
• Punctual, professional, and maintains a neat appearance .
• Prior experience working in custodial or facility maintenance is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally .

Qualifications

• Must obtain a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00).
• Required online training .

Compensation & Schedule

• $15.00 per hour .
• Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (varies by location).
