Job Summary
W e are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our operations team. This role is critical to the accuracy and efficiency of our materials receiving, inventory management, and material transport processes across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, a strong understanding of inventory systems, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
- Perform all material receiving activities, including verifying lot numbers, purchase orders, and quantities for both production and non-production items.
- Cross-check received goods with packing slips and purchase orders; identify and report discrepancies or damages.
- Serve as a backup to the Purchasing & Inventory Technician, including receiving materials in SAP.
- Maintain clean and organized raw material storage areas across multiple buildings and external storage locations.
- Move approved raw materials from quarantine to designated warehouse locations, updating SAP as necessary.
- Transport materials between storage areas (Buildings 1 & 3 and storage trailers).
- Ensure that production areas are adequately stocked with materials to prevent downtime.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting counts, resolving discrepancies in SAP, and maintaining accurate records.
- Operate forklifts safely to load, unload, and transport materials.
- Follow all safety protocols and complete assigned training in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
Skills Required
- Forklift experience required
- SAP experience strongly preferred
- Experience with inventory control systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general computer use
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Familiarity with hazardous materials is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, safety procedures, and job aids
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or materials handling role
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus
