School Based OT, Occupational Therapist
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist with a passion for working within a school setting. The successful candidate will provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students, aimed at enhancing their ability to participate fully in school activities. This role is an excellent opportunity for a professional eager to make a meaningful impact in students’ educational experiences and overall development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine students' needs for occupational therapy services within the educational environment.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student’s unique needs and educational goals.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' educational programs.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide training and resources to school staff and families to support students' functional abilities in the classroom.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working in a school setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in the development and implementation of IEPs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
