Executive Director
- Bachelor's degree in human services, business, social services or equivalent.
- Five or more years of professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, successful membership practices, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management, and sound financial practices.
- Understanding of the mission and cause of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
- Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives.
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
- Experience in Aquatics and Youth Development preferred.
- Experience in growing membership and AOA programs preferred.
- Lead with Vision: Develop and execute strategic initiatives to propel our YMCA forward, embracing upcoming expansions and enhancing community engagement.
- Build Strong Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to expand our impact and integrate our YMCA more deeply into the community.
- Inspire and Empower: Guide and support a passionate team of staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, enthusiasm, and growth.
- Champion Community Programs: Oversee the delivery of diverse programs such as Afterschool, Summer Camp, Youth Sports, and Active Older Adults, ensuring they meet community needs and boost member participation.
- Drive Organizational Success: Implement strategies for membership growth, fundraising, and program expansion, managing $1M+ annual budget and working towards an annual campaign goal of $60,000 from 150 donors.
- Vibrant Community Impact: Lead a YMCA that is central to Wetumpka and Eastern Elmore County, with a strong focus on fitness, wellness, and active living.
- Upcoming Expansion: opportunity to help lead a $1M+ capital campaign investment to expand our footprint as we look to serve more members in our Y.
- Dynamic Facilities: Manage a 20,000-square-foot YMCA featuring a 2-year-old outdoor pool, fitness center, Childwatch, dry sauna, gymnasium, and group exercise studios.
- Active Programs: Oversee a range of popular programs, including Youth Sports, tackle football, soccer, volleyball, and more, plus thriving Active Older Adult programs.
- Growing Membership: Enjoy the success of a membership base that has grown 27% since 2021, 800-1,000 membership units with growth to 1,500-2,000 units upon capital completion.
