Torch Technologies is looking for a Lead Software Developer interested in design, development and the analyzing of complicated software. This software is related to multiple disciplines including tactical communication protocols, hardware real-time coding, drivers for chipsets, user interfaces and graphics.
As a Lead Software Developer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Provide work leadership and mentoring for less experienced co-workers. Each individual, within the team is responsible for their assigned task and must take a proactive role to assure that their tasking responsibilities are completed accurately on schedule.
- Analyze missile defense system behavior to identify potential improvements in tactical software, develop future capabilities/improvements, and assist in the creation of tactical defense designs.
- G ather and analyze user and business requirements to define the scope, objectives, and functionality of new software or systems.
- D esign the overall architecture of applications and systems, create detailed flowcharts and diagrams, and write clean, efficient, and testable code in various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
Analyze massive amounts of missile defense data using statistical analysis techniques to determine and communicate system performance.
Effectively communicate analysis results to customers and program stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship.
Master's in Physics, Computer Science, Computer Eng, Mech Eng, Aerospace Eng, or Math, or Statistics from an ABET accredited university
8+ years of applicable software design engineering and coding experience. Or BS in Physics, Computer Science, Computer Eng, Mech Eng, Aerospace Eng, or Math, or Statistics from an ABET accredited university with 10 years experience.
Coding experience in C, C++ and additional languages in multiple operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
Experience writing drivers, working with protocols and understanding wiring interfaces are desired.
The candidate will need to understand common best practices for coding products and understand coding architecture.
The candidate will be able to collaborate with other but must be driven and willing to learn when experiencing something new.
This will be a rewarding experience in growth and challenging with other software developers as teammates.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
