MES Engineer

Position Details:

• Job Title: MES Engineer
• Job Type: Full-Time
• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL (onsite)
• Work Hours: Must be open to night shifts and extended working hours
• Start Date: Immediate requirement

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MES programming and implement logic/steps within MES programs
• Monitor and troubleshoot MES systems, implement solutions for issues
• Support and configure MES-related devices (printers, scanners, PBL controllers, part labels, barcode scanners, etc.)
• Handle basic network troubleshooting
• Track and manage MES devices and configurations
• Provide IT support for integrated systems (e.g., JIS sequence system, Paintshop system, SAP, AIB, HMI)
• Liaise with operations to gather new MES requirements, convert them to technical specs, coordinate with MES vendors, review and test changes, plan rollouts, write documentation, and train end users
• Maintain ongoing communication with MES Lead and IT Manager on all project statuses

Availability Requirements:

• Must be flexible and able to respond urgently to escalations
• Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience as an MES Engineer
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MSSQL
• Solid diagnostic skills for system alerts and issues
• Experience with Kepware and iDacs is highly preferred
