SENIOR PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Join to apply for the SENIOR PROGRAM DIRECTOR role at YMCA of the USA . This role oversees the creation, development, and growth of membership, aquatics, fitness, and sports programming at the YMCA and will grow other programs as the branch requires. You’ll lead the way in ensuring programs are safe, fun, and effective, and provide the community with the best possible experience. It’s a role that blends creativity, leadership, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact.
Responsibilities- Develop new activities that engage youth and adults and align with the mission of healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development.
- Manage facilities and budgets for the aquatics center, fitness floor, and sports facility scheduling, maintenance, and safety; oversee budgeting processes.
- Recruit, train, and support staff and volunteers; manage departmental coordinator roles and ensure certifications are current.
- Introduce new programs to add value to YMCA memberships and advance aquatics, fitness, membership, and sports activities.
- Build and maintain community relationships to secure support for the YMCA; develop strategies to grow Annual Support Campaign and scholarships.
- Manage payroll for assigned departments and respond to supervisor and member communications within 24 hours.
- Help shape and manage the vision for the YMCA’s sports, fitness, and aquatics programming while continuing personal leadership growth.
- Leadership with Heart: lead with passion, positivity, and a commitment to making a difference; ability to mentor other branches due to YMCA leadership experience.
- A Splash of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 5 years of YMCA management experience in sports, aquatics, fitness, youth services, membership, or related fields.
- Safety First, Always: Certifications in CPR, AED, lifeguard and other safety trainings (or willingness to obtain); risk management training preferred.
