About the Role:

The Acoustical Ceiling & Tile Installer plays a critical role in enhancing the aesthetic and functional quality of interior spaces by expertly installing acoustical ceiling systems and tile products. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that ceilings are installed according to architectural specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. The installer will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. A successful candidate will contribute to creating comfortable, sound-controlled environments in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. Ultimately, this role ensures that the finished ceiling installations meet both visual appeal and acoustic performance requirements, contributing to overall building quality and occupant satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in installing acoustical ceilings and tile systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools used in ceiling installation.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or formal training in acoustical ceiling installation or related trades.
• Experience working on commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices in construction.
• Basic understanding of acoustics and sound control principles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, and install acoustical ceiling tiles and grid systems accurately according to project blueprints and specifications.
• Prepare work areas by removing old materials, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring proper support structures are in place for new installations.
• Collaborate with project supervisors and other construction professionals to coordinate installation schedules and resolve any on-site issues.
• Inspect completed work to ensure alignment, fit, and finish meet quality standards and client requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working order and adhere to all safety protocols during installation processes.

Skills:

The required skills enable the installer to accurately measure, cut, and fit ceiling tiles and grid systems, ensuring installations meet design and safety standards. Proficiency with hand and power tools is essential for efficient and precise work, while blueprint reading skills allow the installer to understand project requirements and specifications.
