Job Title: Pipefitter Instructor
Location: Foley, AL
Job Type: Full-Time (Can adjust for Part-Time/Contract if needed)
Pay Range: $70,000–$75,000 annually
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter Instructor to lead an 18-month maritime-aligned training program. This role is ideal for a seasoned pipefitter passionate about mentoring the next generation or a former instructor ready to return to a structured teaching environment. The successful candidate will provide both classroom and hands-on instruction, guiding apprentices through Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) curriculum while instilling discipline, craftsmanship, and safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver structured instruction using MIB-Pipefitting modules.
• Conduct classroom sessions and practical demonstrations in shop/lab settings.
• Mentor and coach apprentices in both technical and soft skills.
• Administer written and hands-on performance assessments in line with shipyard standards.
• Maintain accurate training records via course management system.
• Promote and enforce safety protocols and organizational policies.
• Provide regular performance feedback to apprentices and program stakeholders.
• Collaborate with recruitment and workforce development teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 10+ years of field experience in pipefitting (industrial, shipyard, or commercial sectors)
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with basic digital tools (Microsoft Office, LMS platforms).
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
• 10+ years of shipyard pipefitting experience.
• NCCER Instructor Certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.
• Prior teaching, mentorship, or adult learning experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).
Work Environment:
• Blend of classroom and hands-on shop/field settings.
• May require extended periods of standing and physical demonstrations.
• Primarily daytime hours, with some scheduling flexibility as needed.
