CODEplus is seeking an Engine Systems Analyst to support the ESSCA contract in Huntsville, Al.
As a key member of the Engine Systems Analysis team, primary duties for the Propulsion Systems Analyst will include:
- Support the planning, design, development, and testing of liquid propulsion systems for various research and development programs.
- Develop steady state and transient engine models to support various NASA programs.
- Develop power balance models for various pump-fed engine systems.
- Assess expected engine performance throughout the various stages of the development process.
- Conduct high-fidelity modeling and simulation of liquid propulsion systems to include transient analyses of start, shutdown, and throttling of rocket engines.
- Create/utilize stability analysis tools to assess engine stability from ROCETS model results.
- Attend test readiness meetings and pre- and post-test data reviews. Prepare and present material to review boards.
- Coordinate, develop, and present technical materials related to engine system performance and testing in support of design milestone reviews and anomaly investigations.
- Prepare technical assessments in areas of liquid propulsions system/subsystem performance.
- Participate in relevant trade teams. Identify and pursue resolution of issues.
- Identify and document customer objectives and product requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education requirements are a BS plus 5 years of experience, or MS plus 3 years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
Qualifications include:
- In-depth understanding of pump-fed, liquid rocket engine cycles and operation.
- In-depth experience with the use of propulsion analysis tools including MATLAB/Simulink, ROCETS and Fortran.
- Exhibited capability to plan and perform liquid engine systems analysis tasks independently and as part of a team.
