Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer (level 3)
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Type: 3 year Contract
Compensation: $63.00 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid or remote
System One is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (level 3) on a 3 year contract position located in Birmingham, AL.
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
+ Provide structural engineering services and field support
+ Conduct preparation of designs and calculations
+ Conduct site walk downs of construction sites
+ Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs
+ Provide schedule and staffing input for projects
+ Produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings
Structural Engineer Requirements:
+ 30+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor's & master's degree in engineering and professional engineering license.
+ Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
+ Significant structural steel connection design experience
+ Proficiency with structural codes and standards
+ Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
+ Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
+ Proficiency with OSHA regulations
+ Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects
+ Able to perform structural inspections and provide written report
+ Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
+ Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
