What You’ll Do:

Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, using sterile, safe, and effective techniques.

Verify patient demographic information and label specimens accurately in compliance with established procedures.

Prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and documentation.

Educate patients about procedures, creating a comfortable environment built on trust and confidence.

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment adhering to all policies and safety standards.

Maintain detailed records of specimen collection, labeling, and verification processes.

Collaborate with healthcare team members and support workflow efficiency across various clinical settings and locations.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence while respecting patient confidentiality and sensitive information.

Adapt to flexible work schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and travel between multiple sites as required.

Required Skills:

1-3 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and documentation.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in high-volume, fast-paced settings.

Knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and confidentiality policies.

Basic keyboard and data entry skills for specimen tracking and documentation.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training.

Certification in phlebotomy (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience working in a Patient Service Center or retail healthcare environment.

Familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training or certification in phlebotomy strongly preferred.

2+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Experience in a high-volume laboratory setting.

Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record if travel between locations is necessary.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform venipuncture, and handle specimens safely.

Certifications or licensure required in specific states such as California, Nevada, and Washington.
