Posting Details Posting Summary Job Title GESTAR II Financial Analyst Division Research & Economic Development Department GESTAR Work Status Full Time Position Category Staff FLSA Exempt Pay Range Minimum Commensurate with experience Maximum Fund Source State Support Job Duties The Financial Analyst assists with the review of monthly expenditures and provides financial support to research scientists and the GESTAR II central team. Duties include maintaining contract spreadsheets, creating grant proposal budgets, reviewing and approving travel budget expenditures, tracking funding monthly and as changes occur, monitoring accounts, reconciling monthly purchase logs, participating in monthly budget meetings, serving as a liaison between Sponsored Programs, Finance and Management, and other departments. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist with review of monthly expenditures; verified bi-weekly payroll distributions; prepared monthly invoice and task reports; supports GESTARII researchers with travel and purchases 2. Reconciles monthly purchases logs; participates in budget meetings 3. Serves as liaison between internal and external customer 4. Provides financial support, i.e., including maintaining contract spreadsheets, tracking funding and monitoring accounts Requested Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Three years of accounting or related experience. Other Preferences for Consideration Knowledge of Federal and Non-Federal grant regulations and operational policies; proficient in Excel and Word; ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing; ability to work with accuracy and give attention to detail; ability to design, analyze and prepare financial reports, ability to monitor expenditures and maintain data.
