Job Title: School Resource Officer (SRO)

Our Police Department is dedicated to providing professional, effective, and compassionate law enforcement services. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled law enforcement professional to serve as a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO).

As a School Resource Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment, building positive relationships with students, faculty, and parents, and serving as both a sworn officer and role model in the school setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of integrity, and a passion for working with youth and community stakeholders.

• Provide law enforcement presence and ensure safety within the city school.

• Build trust and relationships with students, staff, and parents to promote a positive learning environment.

• Collaborate with school leaders on safety plans, emergency preparedness, and crisis response.

• Investigate school-related incidents and enforce laws when necessary.

• Serve as a mentor and positive role model for youth.

• Maintain communication and coordination with the Police Department and school officials.

• Participate in community outreach and youth engagement programs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Valid driver's license.

• APOST certification required.

• Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement experience preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with youth effectively.

• Ability to respond calmly and decisively in high-pressure situations.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $23.80 to $26.79 per hour.
