Spur, a digital staffing agency, is seeking dedicated and punctual Substitute Special Education Aides to support Marshall County Schools . This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with students with special needs and can adapt to a dynamic educational environment.

Position Overview

As an Ongoing Substitute Special Education Aide , you will assist teachers and staff in providing a supportive learning environment for students with special needs. You will be responsible for fostering student engagement, ensuring their safety, and adapting to varying behaviors and academic requirements. In this position, you will be required to work at a school every day to fill in for an aide who is not there that day. If you cannot commit to work Monday-Friday please do not apply to this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students individually or in group settings with classwork.
• Assist teachers and staff with daily activities.
• Escort or accompany students to different school activities as needed.
• Adapt to students’ unique and changing behavioral and educational needs.
• Be open to assisting new students with varying needs as they arise.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing the school and program.
• Follow all school policies and Spur guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working with children, either individually or in a group setting.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is preferred but not required.
• Ability to obtain a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00 fee).
• Completion of required online training before starting.
• Must wear business casual attire in alignment with school guidelines.
• Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
• Must be able to work on call.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (varies by location)
• Work Period: Follows the school calendar when classes are in session
