A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver needed to safely transports patients to medical appointments, rehabilitation, or hospitals. Key duties include assisting patients in/out of ambulatory and wheelchair vehicles, securing wheelchairs, maintaining accurate trip logs, and providing compassionate customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients from homes/nursing home facilities to hospitals, clinics, dialysis, etc. driving short and long distances throughout the state
• Assist passengers in and out of ambulatory/wheelchair vehicles; operate wheelchair lifts, ramps, or securement devices.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety checks, including cleaning and reporting maintenance needs.
• Effective communications skills to coordinate with dispatchers, medical facilities, and patients

Job Requirements

• A valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and assist passengers with physical limitations
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
• Strong communication, patience, empathy
• Familiarity with the area/local traffic routes, and have a strong, intuitive sense of direction
• Strong attendance and punctuality is a must
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability/Schedule Flexibility required (willingness to adjust to changing routes, varying hours (early mornings/nights), and unexpected, on-demand tasks)
• Previous professional driving experience preferred

Typical Schedule

• Shifts often start early (e.g., 4:00-5:00 a.m.) to accommodate morning medical appointments
• Some weekends shifts required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR certification is frequently preferred or required.
• Proficiency in using GPS navigation devices and company-supplied technology.
