Collections Specialist (Accounts Receivable)

Long’s Human Resource Services is hiring a Collections Specialist for a well-established company in Saraland, AL . This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, following up on past-due invoices, and helping resolve billing issues while maintaining positive customer relationships.

This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity with a stable company offering long-term potential.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay: $16.34 per hour
Location: Saraland, Alabama

Responsibilities

• Review aging reports and monitor assigned accounts
• Contact customers by phone and email regarding past-due invoices
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Apply payments accurately in the accounting system
• Work with internal teams to resolve account concerns
• Set up payment arrangements when appropriate
• Maintain detailed account notes and customer records
• Place and release credit holds according to company guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, or credit/collections experience preferred
• Strong phone and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive financial conversations professionally
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
