Childcare Assistant for Ages 2-6
Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL is seeking friendly and responsible individuals to assist with childcare during a high-attendance Sunday event. The position is available on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. You will work as part of a team of childcare staff and volunteers caring for children aged 2 to 6 years. Responsibilities include engaging in active play, caring for children's needs, monitoring playroom activities, and supervising outdoor play in a large, gated playground. You may also be required to serve a simple snack, which is provided by the church. Children enjoy activities like coloring, reading, and building with LEGO. Wyndys will receive an IPC Childcare T-shirt upon arrival to wear during their service, ensuring they are easily identifiable to parents. Each Wyndy will be paired with an experienced full-time staff member or volunteer to help maintain safe child-to-adult ratios. Before serving, Wyndys will review IPC’s Child and Youth Protection Policy. The church features beautiful, well-appointed children’s spaces, a large gated playground, and offers plenty of convenient parking in the Highland Park/downtown area. No pets are present at the location.
