CNC Machinist (Advanced / 3D Machining)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. This position is geared toward upper-level machinists who can work independently, interpret complex drawings (not CAD files), and take a part from blueprint to finished product. The ideal candidate will be experienced with programming CNC machines directly from drawings and/or operating large manual machines while handling heavy, high-precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program CNC machines directly from engineering drawings (no CAD models provided).
• Interpret and analyze complex blueprints to determine machining strategies.
• Independently plan machining processes, including selecting tools, determining fixturing, and deciding optimal positioning.
• Perform 3D machining with precision and accuracy.
• Operate large CNC and manual machines to produce high-quality parts.
• Safely rig, lift, and set up parts up to 20,000 lbs.
• Reduce unnecessary repositions by strategically planning machining steps.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust setups as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Proven hands-on experience taking parts from drawings to completed, machined components.
• Strong 3D machining background.
• Ability to program CNC machines using drawings as the source.
• Experience with large CNC machines and/or large manual machines.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute complex engineering drawings on day one.
• Comfortable with rigging and setting heavy components (up to 20,000 lbs).
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills related to machining strategy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience machining large, complex parts.
• Familiarity with advanced tooling selection and machining best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
