Accountant
Role Summary
The Cove Church Ministries Accountant reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for administering all aspects of church finances. This includes processing all income, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, month end financial reports and support to annual budget development.

Requirements
Doctrinal/Theological:
- Must be in agreement with the doctrinal standards of Cove Church Ministries as found in the Faith and Practice .
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records of all financial transactions
- Payroll processing for both hourly and salary employees, including new hire entries
- Accounts Payable (cut checks and online payments when applicable)
- Enter all employee monthly credit card statement transactions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare biweekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly payroll tax forms and make necessary federal and state deposits.
- Prepare W-2s and 1099’s at year-end
- Prepare monthly Board Reports
- Prepare monthly ministry reports
- Batch and record all online giving
- Electronically deposit and record all checks
- Monthly update contributions to 403(b) retirement plan and make payment
- Coordinate and support annual audit review with CPA firm
- Prepare financial analyses as requested
- Record all individual donations in Church Community Builder software (known internally as the HUB) as well as maintaining summary level in QuickBooks accounting records
- Work with Executive Director to ensure that employment and business records and all related transaction data are correctly, accurately and timely documented and maintained.
Experience/Skills:
- General accounting experience
- Must be proficient in Quick Books and Excel
- Preferred experience using Church Community Builders, Subsplash, and BambooHR
- Attention to detail
