Daycare Chef!

About the position

Reporting to the Centre Director acts as an integral member of the Kids & Company team to assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking at the kitchen through the conscientious application of Kids & Company standards to achieve our mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cooking baking and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal including maintaining temperature logs.
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain childrens allergy list regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
• Complies with all health regulations and the companys best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule including dishwashing daily weekly and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips school-age programs and community events.
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the daycare centers.

What you need

• Current Food Handler Certification
• Experience working with vulnerable populations
• Experience in a daycare environment would be an asset.
• Valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Require a clean criminal record check
• Ability to push pull and lift to 45 pounds
