Student Data and Office Assistant
: Department GEAR UP Rate of Pay $8.50 hourly FLSA Non-Exempt Estimated Number of Hours Per Week 10 - 20 Employment Status Part Time Temporary Student Appointment Type Jobship General Description Perform data entry and office administrative support for the College of Education and Human Development Federal GEAR UP Grant. Essential Job Duties 1. Assist with data entry into the database for GEAR UP Jefferson County. 2. Run database reports as requested. 3. Work closely with internal and external office staff to meet data entry deadlines. 4. Organize and file documents. 5. Process paperwork accurately. 6. Maintain confidentiality 7. Answer phones, direct calls, and take accurate phone messages. 8. Provide general office support as needed (errands, copies, supplies, etc). Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 1. Be self-directed and motivated. 2. Adhere to strict ethical and legal requirements concerning confidentiality and protecting information. 3. Must be detail oriented. 4. Ability to interact with students, faculty and staff in a positive and effective way. 5. Dress appropriately for a professional setting. 6. Ability to use office equipment (Xerox Copier, Facsimile, and Multi-line Phone system). 7. Must be familiar with MS Office programs. 8. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 9. Keyboarding and data entry experience is preferred.
