Position Summary As a Skilled Fabricator at BMFA, you'll play a critical role in the creation, customization, and repair of fire trucks that serve communities across the country. You'll be responsible for cutting, forming, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and care. This includes fabricating custom parts for fire truck modifications and restoring vehicles by repairing collision damage . You'll work with specialized equipment such as hydraulic press brakes and metal shears, and follow detailed blueprints and technical documents. The right candidate is a highly skilled craftsperson with excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in TIG welding (especially aluminum and stainless steel). Key Responsibilities Fabricate, modify, and assemble metal components and custom parts Repair and reconstruct fire truck bodies and components damaged in collisions Operate fabrication equipment (press brakes, shears, saws, drills, grinders, etc.) Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents Work collaboratively with the fabrication and service teams to meet production goals Maintain a safe, organized work environment and follow all safety protocols Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in every project Skills & Qualifications ~5+ years of experience as a fabrication technician ~ Proven TIG welding experience, especially with aluminum and stainless steel ~ Skilled in various welding techniques (TIG, MMA, etc.) Experience with pipe fitting and use of electrical/manual hand tools ~ Ability to fabricate custom parts from scratch using technical drawings ~ Knowledge of structural repair and bodywork for heavy vehicles or fire apparatus ~ Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards ~ Proficient in English (spoken and written) ~ AWS welding certification or similar credentials are a strong plus Why Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus?
