Used Car Reconditioning Technician

Job Summary: The role of the Used Car Reconditioning Technician is to perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of any failure or problem on vehicles in an efficient and accurate manner in accordance with dealership and factory standard About Us: From Sterling Edwards opening Alabama’s first Chevrolet dealership in downtown Birmingham to celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2016, Edwards Chevrolet Downtown has weathered many challenges and celebrated many milestones. Used Car Reconditioning Technician Compensation and Benefits: * 401K after a year and the company matches 2% * Health Insurance

Used Car Reconditioning Technician Responsibilities:

• Wash vehicle exterior, using cleaning solution, wax, water, cloths, and brushes
• Clean and vacuum interior or vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris
• Revitalize and preservate agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components
• Clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime
• Apply special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following recommendations of the product’s manufacturer

Used Car Reconditioning Technician Requirements:

• Previous automotive experience
• Ability to read, interpret and transcribe data in order maintain accurate records
• Time management skills perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Presentation and listening skills to effectively deal with customers/associates, both in person and over the phone
• Comfortable lifting objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time
• Great attention to detail and manual dexterity in both arms and hands
• Flexible availability with shifts that may include nights, weekends, holiday, and 12-hour days
