System Administrator - ACAS System Security Compliance Administrator

About the Role

As a System Administrator specializing in ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) security compliance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and securing network systems. You'll work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure vulnerability assessments, compliance reporting, and system security practices align with industry standards. Your expertise will help protect critical systems and ensure smooth operations across classified and unclassified network environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain ACAS security compliance tools, including Tenable products such as SecurityCenter (SC) and Nessus scanners.

Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Tenable components across complex network environments.

Collaborate with IT security personnel to implement security compliance reports, vulnerability assessments, and asset management solutions.

Assist in meeting cybersecurity compliance requirements by maintaining security configurations and monitoring risk exposure.

Conduct security scans, analyze reports, and ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policies.

Work alongside systems administrators and engineers to develop tailored security solutions.

Provide documentation and record system configurations, including security groups, permissions, and network settings.

Support patch management processes and security updates in accordance with DoD cybersecurity guidelines.

Develop and maintain custom security policies, automated compliance reports, and dashboards for key stakeholders.

Assist with system audits, continuous monitoring, and incident response planning.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

1-4 years of hands-on experience in ACAS system administration, vulnerability management, or cybersecurity compliance.

Experience with Tenable SecurityCenter (SC), Nessus scanners, and other ACAS components.

Knowledge of Windows and Linux (RHEL) operating systems in an enterprise environment.

Familiarity with networking concepts, including VLANs, IP routing, and firewalls.

Ability to analyze vulnerability scans and implement remediation strategies.

Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to cybersecurity challenges.

Experience with virtualized environments (VMware vSphere, ESXi) is a plus.

Scripting experience in Bash, Perl, PowerShell, Python, or Nessus Attack Scripting Language (NASL) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with enterprise cybersecurity tools such as Forescout, SolarWinds Orion, McAfee Endpoint Security, or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).

Understanding of DoD security compliance frameworks, including DISA STIGs and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs).

Ability to create and customize Nessus compliance audit files (.AUDIT) for tailored security assessments.

Experience managing and deploying Nessus Agents across server environments.
