Summary

The OR Assistant will assist the physician throughout the course of the procedure and provide superior patient care. This position requires patience, empathy, time management, efficiency, and professionalism with patients, co-workers, and providers.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for gathering and properly recording patient’s preoperative vitals
• Handle instruments, medications, and other supplies and equipment necessary during the procedure
• Able to follow established procedural protocols
• Responsible for making sure rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with appropriate supplies
• Prepare supplies for procedures and sterilize equipment
• Understand principles of aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

Education & Experience

• At least 1 year of clinical or operating room experience preferred
• Experience operating a C-Arm preferred
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
• Effective communication skills verbally and written
• Positive, patient focused attitude
