Riggers / Ironworkers

Genesis Industrial Staffing is seeking Iron Workers and Riggers.

Position Overview:
We are seeking skilled Ironworkers and Riggers to support a scheduled shutdown at a coal terminal facility. This role involves structural steel work, heavy rigging, and equipment support during maintenance and repair operations. Candidates must be safety-focused, adaptable to shutdown schedules, and experienced working in heavy industrial environments. You will be working at extreme heights.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform steel erection, fitting, cutting, and welding for structural components.
• Assemble, align, and secure structural steel and supports during terminal shutdown operations.
• Rig, lift, and move heavy materials, equipment, and machinery safely using cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment.
• Assist with dismantling, installation, and replacement of coal handling equipment, conveyors, and support structures.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and lift plans to ensure accuracy and safety in all tasks.
• Work closely with crane operators and other crew members to complete lifts and installs.
• Follow strict safety protocols including lockout/tagout, fall protection, confined space, heights and hot work requirements.
• Support shutdown timeline by working extended hours, including nights and weekends, as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Ironworker or Rigger in heavy industrial or shutdown environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of rigging techniques, hand signals, and lift planning.
• Familiarity with welding, cutting, and bolting steel components.
• OSHA/MSHA training and site-specific safety certifications preferred.
• Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments.
• Must provide own basic tools and PPE; specialized rigging gear provided.

Schedule & Pay:

• Shutdown project – temporary assignment with potential for future work.
• 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week during shutdown. 6:00-6:00
• Pay rate DOE (depending on experience) + overtime.$28.00 - $32.00
