Pay: $24-$26 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time

United Trades of America is seeking a reliable and motivated Plant Operator to join our growing team in Birmingham, Alabama. We specialize in innovative concrete paving solutions, and we're looking for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview:
As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating portable pugmills to batch Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) mix, maintaining plant equipment, and ensuring the quality and consistency of our concrete products. You'll work closely with site teams to ensure projects stay on schedule while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate portable pugmill plants to batch RCC and other concrete mixes.

• Receive, inspect, and manage stockpiled materials.

• Track and report daily production, material usage, water content, and operating hours.

• Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance of pugmill plants.

• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and report to management.

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are strongly preferred.

• Prior experience operating concrete mixing plants or pugmills is a plus but not required.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Willingness to follow strict safety protocols.

• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
