Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Description We are looking for a sharp and adaptable Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a Contract basis in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves supporting the HR department through various administrative and project-based tasks, ensuring smooth operations during a period of organizational transition. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: - Assist the Benefits Specialist with benefit reconciliations and leave program administration. - Prepare and distribute HR-related paperwork and information to employees as needed. - Provide support for onboarding processes, including background checks and employee documentation. - Collaborate with the HR team on project-based initiatives to improve department efficiency. - Perform general administrative tasks to support HR operations and assist in the transition of roles within the department. - Maintain and update HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. - Address employee inquiries with a customer-focused approach. - Support employee relations by facilitating communication and resolving basic concerns. - Ensure compliance with business casual dress code and maintain a detail-oriented demeanor at all times. Requirements - Proven experience in human resources administration or a related field. - Familiarity with HRIS systems and the ability to manage employee data effectively. - Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. - Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and learn new processes quickly. - Proficiency in onboarding processes, including background checks and employee documentation. - A detail-oriented demeanor, adhering to a business casual dress code.
