Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students through specialized education services! A contract position is available for passionate Special Education Teachers to make a difference in a vibrant educational setting near Montgomery, AL. There are four dynamic roles open, with placements available in both multi-needs and behavioral intervention program (BIP) units. Openings span K-5th and 6-8th grade, with class sizes designed for individualized attention, ranging from 10 to 16 learners per caseload.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Demonstrated experience adapting curriculum and instruction for various learning and behavioral needs
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), development and implementation
• Understanding of multi-needs or intensive support populations and/or experience with BIP units
• Strong collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Compassion, resourcefulness, and a flexible approach to meeting student goals

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, adapt, and deliver instruction to meet each student’s unique IEP goals
• Develop supportive classroom environments fostering growth in social, emotional, and academic skills
• Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Monitor progress, maintain thorough documentation, and communicate with caregivers
• Implement behavioral strategies to encourage positive behavior and student engagement
• Engage in professional development and ongoing learning to best serve a diverse classroom
