Position Overview:
We are seeking a Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist – Senior to support our growing cyber defense operations in Huntsville, AL . This role requires a highly experienced professional with a strong background in Linux administration, cybersecurity infrastructure, system integration, and secure application development. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in sustaining and evolving our cyber defense capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and support Linux-based environments (Red Hat preferred).
- Test, implement, deploy, and sustain cybersecurity hardware and software infrastructure.
- Develop, modify, and maintain applications and specialized utility programs to support cybersecurity operations.
- Perform system administration on dedicated cyber defense systems, applications, and VPN devices, including configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.
- Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage and update cyber defense rules and signatures.
- Build, install, configure, and test hardware specific to cyber defense missions.
- Integrate third-party components, enhance custom capabilities, and improve operational processes.
- Support automation of operations and maintenance tasks using tools and scripting (e.g., Python).
- Assist in prioritizing and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure.
- Implement RMF/SA&A requirements for cyber systems; maintain documentation and security records.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity infrastructure support.
- Experience with Linux-based environments (Red Hat preferred).
- Proven experience supporting and administering cybersecurity systems and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cybersecurity-related applications and tools.
- Experience with RMF/SA&A processes.
- Active Top Secret Clearance .
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, etc.).
Certifications:
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Associate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python .
- Familiarity with Splunk and Oracle/SQL-based platforms .
- Experience with integrating third-party security solutions and customizing legacy systems.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives within cybersecurity operations.
