• Position Summary:

  The Service Center Technician represents NHME with professionalism by ensuring all medical equipment is cleaned, disinfected, tested, and documented according to company policies and infection control guidelines. This role supports the organization’s mission by promoting safety, quality care, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal standards.

  Key Responsibilities: Professional Conduct & Organizational Support

  • Represent NHME in a professional, compassionate manner at all times.

  • Follow NHME, federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.

  • Adhere to company policies, including safety, confidentiality, and the “Grandparent Standard” of customer service.

  • Use resources responsibly and assist in organizational performance improvement efforts.

  • Participate in continuing education and maintain professional skill level.

  • Comply with HQAA standards.

• Equipment Cleaning & Infection Control

  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain medical equipment and surfaces in accordance with infection control procedures.

  • Use proper PPE and body mechanics at all times.

  • Handle contaminated items according to policy and ensure a clean working environment.

  • Perform functional and electrical safety checks on cleaned equipment.

  • Use manufacturer guidelines when mixing and using cleaning agents.

  • Log and document all cleaning and disinfection tasks.

• Inventory & Warehouse Support

  • Assist Medical Service Technicians with truck/vans loading and unloading.

  • Receive and process returned rental equipment; communicate with customer service.

  • Ensure all dirty equipment is processed daily.

  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse floors and dirty equipment areas.

  • Wash and dry cleaning materials (e.g., rags) daily.

  • Document all serviced equipment in the inventory system.

  • Notify supervisor of low stock on equipment and supplies.

  • Complete oxygen refill procedures and log accordingly.

• Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.

  • Ensure equipment tags are updated and accurate.

  • Review and follow emergency and infection control procedures annually.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and confidentiality regulations.

  • Participate in both traditional and e-learning training programs.

• Qualifications: Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 months related experience or training preferred.

  • No licensure required; relevant certifications preferred.

• Skills & Abilities

  • Basic math proficiency (fractions, ratios, percentages).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, policies, and safety instructions.

  • Ability to write documentation and follow cleaning procedures accurately.

• General Requirements

  • Clean criminal background and drug screening required.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Must be flexible with work schedule and adaptable to change.

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and time management skills.

• Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs occasionally.

  • Must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment.

  • Requires vision, hearing, and manual dexterity for performing job duties.

  • Must be capable of using standard office and cleaning equipment.

• Work Environment:

  This role operates in a warehouse and healthcare equipment environment with exposure to cleaning agents, medical equipment, and occasional patient environments. Strict adherence to infection control and safety procedures is required.
