Snelling is recruiting a full-time Legal Billing Clerk for a well-established company in the Birmingham area. The Billing Specialist to manage client billing, ensure accuracy in financial records, and support the firm’s accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and experience working with legal billing or professional services invoicing. The starting pay for this position is $55-75k, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare, review, and process client invoices in accordance with firm and client guidelines.
· Maintain billing records, time entries, and matter data within the firm’s billing system.
· Communicate with attorneys and clients to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
· Post payments, adjustments, and trust transactions accurately.
· Generate and distribute monthly billing reports for management review.
· Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding accounts as needed.
· Support other accounting functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
· 2+ years of billing experience; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.
· Proficiency with billing software (e.g., Tabs3, Aderant, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
