Construction Safety Manager
Location: Decatur, AL
Duration: 3+ Months (Start Date: August 4, 2025)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Since 1963, Sheakley has been a leader in safety management outsourcing. We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee field safety operations for our client in Decatur, AL. If you're a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in construction safety, this is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact on a high-profile industrial project.

• Hourly Rate: $50/hr

• Per Diem: $125/day (7 days/week) - if over 50 miles from the project location

• Completion Bonus: $150/month

• Pay Frequency: Weekly

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (some Saturdays required)

The Construction Safety Manager will support the final phase of a large-scale industrial manufacturing facility for our client. The site is entering final construction stages, and the Safety Manager will provide critical oversight to ensure all safety procedures and compliance standards are met.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• OSHA 30 (minimum)

• First Aid Certified

• Fall Protection - Competent Person

• 3+ years of construction safety experience

• Conduct daily project safety inspections and enforce compliance with OSHA, company, and client standards

• Lead new hire site-specific safety orientations

• Perform routine field audits and identify/correct unsafe conditions or behaviors

• Lead and document Toolbox Talks, JHAs, and Pre-Task Planning meetings

• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, especially regarding high-risk construction activities

Skills:

• Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• OSHA outreach training experience (preferred)

• Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information

Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards

• Ability to communicate and implement safety practices effectively
