Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary Function - Days
Schedule : Monday-Friday - Days
Work Location : UAB St Vincent's East
Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Provide diagnostic evaluation of pulmonary function in patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
- Perform ordered pulmonary function and pulmonary stress testing. Monitor and evaluate patient response during and after testing. Document and report testing results.
- Determine testing reference ranges and interprets results. Recognize and correct for invalid test results.
- Prepare, maintain and calibrate pulmonary function testing equipment. Maintain adequate levels of supplies used for testing. Troubleshoot equipment problems and report needed repairs/replacements.
- Provide education and resources to patient and/or patient's family based on clinical implications.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy required.
