We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This contract-to-possible permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage key financial processes and ensure accuracy in payables operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounts payable processes for assigned market carriers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Reconcile all financial accounts in compliance with internal control standards, ensuring timely and accurate payments to carriers.
• Submit vendor invoices and accounts payable documentation for processing.
• Manage recurring payables and other financial processes for assigned agencies.
• Train agency personnel on proper accounting procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent education and relevant training.
• A minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role.
• Knowledge of accounts payable functions, accrual accounting, and ACH processes.
• Experience with account coding and auditing procedures.
• Ability to work on-site on Wednesdays and complete a 3-4 week training period.
