CNC Machinist

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment to produce precision parts that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and experience machining custom or production components in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines including mills and/or lathes

• Load programs, set offsets, and perform tool changes

• Machine parts to print while maintaining tight tolerances

• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions

• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools

• Make minor program edits as needed to improve part quality and efficiency

• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixturing, and machine performance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures

• Work collaboratively with programmers, engineers, and supervisors

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist

• Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes

• Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills

• Familiarity with GD&T

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• CNC programming or editing experience (G-code or conversational)

• Experience with job shop or custom machining environments

• Multi-axis machining experience (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis)

• Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mazatrol, Haas, Siemens, or Okuma

• Tooling and fixturing experience
