Months/Years of Experience: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited university and nine (9) years of combined engineering and technical experience, including six (6) years of project experience; or a Master's Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited university and seven (7) years of combined engineering and technical experience, including four (4) years of project experience; or a PhD in Engineering in the appropriate area of specialization or related discipline from an accredited college/university and five (5) years of applicable experience, including two (2) years of project experience, performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems. Areas of specialization may include electromagnetics, electro-optics, optical sciences, electronic circuits, modeling and simulation, infrared scene projection, structural analysis, radar systems, high voltage systems, mechanical systems, data acquisition, stockpile testing, HWIL, HPC, or IR scene generation. Additional specialization requirements: Electrical – Experience must include performing research, design, development, test or supervision of the manufacturing and installation of electrical components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use; and performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems.
Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizen. Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance. A highly experienced Senior Telemetry Engineer with over nine (9) years of telemetry operations and engineering support in test range environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background supporting missile flight tests in both ship-based and land-based settings. They should possess comprehensive, end-to-end expertise in telemetry ground station design, encompassing antenna theory and operations, advanced RF demodulation and processing, signal distribution and recording, as well as telemetry DE commutation and display. This position requires approximately 50% travel to support field operations, mission execution, system deployments, and customer engagements.
Duties: Provide high-level oversight and expert leadership for all telemetry systems supporting mission operations. This includes supervising end-to-end telemetry system performance during test events, ensuring reliable real-time data acquisition, monitoring, analysis, and distribution across ship-based and land-based environments. The Lead will develop, maintain, and enforce operational procedures and standards that govern telemetry system configuration, data processing workflows, and archiving to ensure mission readiness and data integrity. In preparation for and during mission execution, the Telemetry Lead will play a central role in mission planning activities, advising stakeholders on telemetry system capabilities, limitations, and risk mitigation strategies. During live operations, they will provide authoritative technical oversight, coordinate system-level troubleshooting, and ensure optimal performance of antennas, RF chains, demodulation systems, recording systems, and data dissemination paths. The Telemetry Lead will analyze system performance data to identify trends, diagnose anomalies, and recommend corrective actions or system improvements. They will collaborate with engineering teams, scientists, and mission leadership to interpret telemetry results, validate system performance, and support design refinements. The role also includes mentoring and guiding team members in telemetry best practices and advanced operational concepts, as well as assessing and integrating emerging technologies to enhance system performance and mission support capabilities.
Desired Qualifications: Strong knowledge of TMoIP and SATCOM technologies, with particular experience in Starshield, is also strongly preferred. Previous experience with the MOSAIC system or MOSAIC - like systems is desired. Experience with leading industry vendors such as TCS, Quasonix, Wideband Systems, Universal Switching, and NetAcquire is highly desirable.
