Accounts Payable Clerk

Providence Staffing’s client in Mobile, AL is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk . The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. This role supports daily financial operations by ensuring invoices, payments, and financial records are accurate and properly documented. This is a temp-to-perm position .

Essential Job Functions

• Process invoices and verify accuracy of financial information
• Perform data entry of accounts payable transactions
• Review and post debits and credits accurately
• Reconcile financial records, statements, and reports
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
• Prepare and process checks, payments, and related records
• Maintain organized and accurate financial files
• Scan and upload financial documents into electronic filing systems
• Assist with month-end reconciliation and reporting
• Perform general clerical duties such as filing, copying, and document organization
• Support accounting staff with additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting required
• Experience with debits, credits, and reconciliation of financial records required
• Experience working in an office or accounting environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Ability to accurately record debits and credits
• Experience reconciling accounts and financial statements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Proficiency with office equipment and computer systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, and employees are paid on a weekly basis.
