Picture this: at 7:30 PM, a press calls for attention. A critical die isn’t holding tolerance. You pull the tool, review the blueprint, and map out your plan—layout, machine, fit, verify—returning it to production with confidence before dawn. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, read on.

Your mission

Safeguard product quality by restoring, building, and optimizing dies and tooling. Translate specifications into accurate metal layouts, run precision equipment to create or repair parts, and assemble mechanisms that meet tight tolerances.

How you’ll make it happen

• Analyze blueprints, sketches, models, and descriptions to select materials and machine processes.
• Compute dimensions, plan layouts, and set the sequence for machining and assembly.
• Measure, mark, and scribe stock; set up and operate lathes, mills, shapers, and grinders.
• Machine new or replacement components and verify conformance throughout the build.
• Lift, position, and secure components on surface plates or worktables for inspection and assembly.
• Fit and assemble parts into functional assemblies; grind flat and contoured surfaces to finish.
• Check dimensions, alignments, and clearances using calipers, micrometers, gauge pins/blocks, and other gauges.
• Heat treat tools or parts to achieve specified properties.
• Review existing dies/tools/jigs/fixtures and propose design modifications to improve performance.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues methodically to maintain the required quality level of parts.
• Work safely and follow all company policies at every step.

3rd shift : 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
Location: Plant in Cusseta, AL

What it takes

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• At least 2 years of verifiable tool and die experience or equivalent (required).
• Journeyman status or completed apprenticeship (preferred).
• Intermediate-level machining and metalworking experience (required).
• Experience with Mastercam and SolidWorks (preferred).
