Position Summary
We are seeking an entry-level Legal Assistant to join our Social Security Disability practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the legal field who wants to gain hands-on experience and develop their career. The role focuses on supporting attorneys and case managers with administrative and client service tasks. No prior legal experience is required training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming client calls with professionalism and empathy.
- Gather and update client information in our case management system.
- Request and organize medical records and supporting documentation.
- Perform general office duties, including:
- Data entry into case management systems
- Preparing basic legal forms and letters (training provided)
- Organizing files and records
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist attorneys and case managers with case preparation and scheduling.
- Communicate with clients, healthcare providers, and government agencies under supervision.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Prior office, customer service, or administrative experience helpful but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (phone, email, in-person).
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and other office software.
- Comfortable learning new software systems (training provided).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
