Litigation Paralegal
Serious Injury Law Group, a dynamic and client-focused law firm known for its vigorous advocacy, is seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal with extensive experience in medical malpractice. This crucial role will support three attorneys, including one based in our Fairburn office and two in Birmingham, GA. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex medical malpractice cases, possess thorough knowledge of litigation processes, and demonstrate a proven ability to handle the intricacies of medical malpractice litigation. Responsibilities: Assist attorneys in the drafting and review of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and subpoenas.
Conduct legal research and fact investigation specifically tailored to medical malpractice case development.
Manage comprehensive case preparation for trial, coordinating the collection of evidence, and maintaining meticulously detailed case files.
Organize and manage both electronic and paper files to ensure information is readily accessible.
Handle case correspondence and manage schedules and deadlines.
Prepare for and assist at depositions, hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
Liaise with clients, expert witnesses, consultants, and other relevant parties as necessary.
Assist with the settlement process by preparing settlement agreements, releases, and other related documents.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Litigation Paralegal, with specific and substantial experience in medical malpractice required.
Excellent knowledge of legal principles and practices relevant to civil litigation with a focus on medical malpractice.
Experience supporting multiple attorneys across different locations.
Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Superior attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients and staff at all levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
Education: Paralegal Certification
