DVS is actively seeking a Power Platform Dataverse SA/DBA to support our team onsite in Huntsville, AL. This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain.

Key Responsibilities and Required Qualifications:

Power Platform knowledge:

  • Administration:
    • Must have a thorough understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform Admin Center for managing the environments, licenses, and security.
  • Environment management:
    • Must be proficient in creating, controlling, and monitoring Dataverse environments and their associated data policies.
  • Power Automate and Power Apps:
    • Must have experience and a working knowledge of Power Automate and Power Apps, necessary for creating business processes and applications that interact with Dataverse.
  • Governance:
    • Must know how to use tools like the Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit to implement policies, manage resources, and oversee platform adoption.

Security and compliance:

  • Security roles:
    • Must have a deep knowledge of how to create and assign security roles to control what users and teams can see and do with data.
  • Access levels:
    • Must have experience setting and managing granular access rights at the table, record, and even column level to protect sensitive information.
  • Data loss prevention (DLP):
    • Must be skilled in creating and enforcing policies that prevent users from unintentionally sharing sensitive data with external services.
  • Auditing and monitoring :
    • Must have experience setting up auditing and regularly reviewing audit logs to monitor user activity and ensure compliance.

Data management:

  • Data modeling:
    • Must have experience designing robust data models, which includes defining tables, columns, relationships, and business logic.
  • Database maintenance:
    • Must have experience in bulk data operations, performance optimization, and implementing data retention policies.
  • Integration:
    • Must have experience integrating Dataverse with other data sources using connectors and dataflows.
  • Data migration:
    • Must know how to manage data imports and exports using tools like Power Query.
  • Data governance:
    • Must know how to ensure data integrity and adhere to our organizational policies for data handling and quality.

Soft skills

  • Problem-solving:
    • Must be able to troubleshoot issues with platform performance, security access, and data integration, and possesses strong analytical skills.
  • Communication :
    • Must know how to effectively communicate and explain complex technical issues to non-technical users and collaborate with developers and other IT staff.
  • Adaptability:
    • Power Platform is evolving rapidly, so the administrator must have a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and updates.
  • Attention to detail:
    • Small errors can cause major problems in a database, so the administrator must have a keen eye for details that are essential for maintenance, auditing, and security.
  • Collaboration:
    • Must be a team player and able to work well with citizen developers, business leaders, and other IT teams to ensure solutions are aligned with our business needs.

Physical and Mental Qualifications:

  • Maintain focus and awareness throughout scheduled working hours.
  • Perform tasks requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk, utilizing a computer, mouse, and keyboard.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Quickly learn and retain routine tasks and processes.
  • Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, business correspondence proficiency, and self-management capabilities.
