Regional Finance Officer

FirstBank is looking to hire a Regional Finance Officer to support our regions. Applicants must be located in the following areas as occasional travel to your region will be required for the role: Middle (Nashville/Franklin), TN area, Lexington, TN area, or Birmingham, AL area. This position is on-site in a FirstBank office.

General Description : The Finance Officer is a key member of the Finance Team and will provide direct support to the Business Units of the organization. The Finance Officer will be responsible for building a good rapport with their business partners and assisting them in making sound financial management decisions. This position will be responsible for providing timely, accurate and complete financial and operating reporting, evaluating new business opportunities, assist with the planning and forecasting process as well as the monthly accounting close out process. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen and be able to manage and prioritize multiple task and projects. The candidate will have strong interpersonal skills as well as be able to convey information concisely in writing to the management team. Finance Officer responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to provide insights into the business units financial performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitor variances, and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess risk factors affecting the business unit's profitability and growth.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and strategies to support the business unit's and other business endeavors.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial results, analysis, and recommendations effectively to management and other stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making and transparency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes and recommend process improvements and innovations to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or banking, with a strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, accounting software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, and ethical behavior in handling sensitive financial information and decision-making.
