About the Role:

As an Infection Preventionist at Haleyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center , you will play a crucial role in ensuring clinical excellence and infection control across our facility. You will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs, supporting staff development, and overseeing infection prevention initiatives. Your work will directly impact the quality of care we provide to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control educational programs and initiatives for nursing staff.
2. Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify learning needs and performance gaps.
3. Facilitate hands-on training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
4. Collaborate with nursing leadership to support clinical excellence and adherence to best practices.
5. Monitor and ensure compliance with continuing education and certification requirements.
6. Lead orientation programs for new hires and provide ongoing support for staff development.
7. Develop, implement, and oversee infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
8. Monitor and investigate known or suspected sources of infections, taking appropriate action to prevent the spread.
9. Educate staff about infection control best practices, ensuring compliance with protocols.
10. Review infection rates and prepare reports for healthcare administrators.
11. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive infection prevention measures.
12. Stay updated on the latest research and best practices related to infection prevention.
13. Participate in the selection and use of infection control equipment and supplies.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Current Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN )
2. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Strong organizational abilities and a passion for teaching and mentorship.
5. Self-guided with attention to detail.
