Cypress Capital Partners, LLC, a construction company, seeks an experienced Accountant/Controller to manage financial operations, ensure accurate accounting, and support business growth through financial oversight and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage cash flow, including monitoring project costs and vendor payments.
- Oversee job costing for construction projects, tracking expenses and profitability.
- Handle tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts monthly.
- Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Generate financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors.
- Assist in financial planning, including capital expenditure analysis.
- Manage inventory accounting for construction materials.
- Ensure compliance with construction-specific regulations (e.g., lien laws, bonding).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of bookkeeping/controller experience, preferably in construction.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with job costing, payroll, and tax preparation.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Familiarity with construction industry financial practices.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
