Systems Architect
The Systems Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of missile defense and space domains by contributing to the development of operational, physical, functional, and technical architectures. As part of a collaborative architecture and systems engineering team within a multi-company program, the Systems Architect will design command and control systems that integrate existing and COTS/GOTS components, ensuring DoD interoperability. This role involves analyzing high-level requirements, developing system architecture solutions for emerging capabilities, and working closely with lead systems, software, network, and cyber architects. The Systems Architect will also present architecture concepts to diverse audiences, engage with project leads, product owners, and MDA customers, and serve as a focal point for system architecture throughout development, testing, and deployment.

Pay Rate: $115,000 - $130,000

Responsibilities:- Define and develop operational, physical, functional, and technical architectures for missile defense and space domains.
- Architect command and control systems that integrate existing and COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability.
- Analyze high-level requirements and develop system architecture solutions for emerging capabilities.
- Collaborate with lead systems, software, network, and cyber architects.
- Coordinate with multiple teams, including software development, network engineering, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, testing, and deployment.
- Present architecture concepts to diverse audiences, including project leads, product owners, and MDA customers.
- Serve as a focal point for system architecture throughout development, testing, and deployment.
- Maintain current knowledge of developing technologies and design methodologies in DoD Command and Control and commercial IT solutions.

- Systems Engineering/Architecture with Test Experience on a DoD Program.
- Desire to be a Systems Architect on a complex Command and Control DoD Program.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.
- Must possess a minimum of two of the following skillsets:
- C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) System experience (2+ years).
- Experience in creating new System Architecture concepts and solutions.
- IT/Computer Science/Software/Network-related work experience on an integrated team developing solutions for a DoD Program.
- Experience as a Technical Lead Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering technical leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 Domain.
- Experience in architecting systems in environments leveraging existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability.
- Experience working in integrated team environments with other systems, software, and specialty engineers.
- Experience identifying and defining system capabilities, communicating them to diverse groups, and generating architecture artifacts.
- Experience developing system engineering and architecture artifacts (e.g., Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies).
- Experience creating briefings, reviewing architecture designs and artifacts, and presenting at DoD Customer Design Reviews.
- Familiarity with Private Cloud solutions and IT technologies such as VMWare/Nutanix, RedHat, Network solutions.
- Familiarity with DoD Cyber requirements, RMF, and associated solutions.
- Familiarity with Software development and Java-based software.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and/or Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile development.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo tool.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools, e.g., DOORS.
- Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, or
- Master's degree with 7 years of experience
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
