**Job Description:** Accountable for assisting the organization to improve quality, safety, and reduce operational risk exposure through performance improvement processes and meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements. Accountable to facilitate, plan, consult, educate, reduce barriers, and support managers and staff as they incorporate principles of continuous quality improvement to multiple quality/risk related functions. Job Essentials Quality Monitoring & Improvement and Project Management: Provides accurate and meaningful data to teams, committees and physician groups by understanding data dictionaries and using appropriately, using self coded data sheets, assisting in determining appropriate data to collect by asking right questions and identifying correct populations, and using working knowledge of existing databases to obtain data already being collected. Appropriate knowledge and application of basic statistical tools, such as, standard deviation, frequency distributions, histograms, and pareato charts. Applies quality improvement methodologies as a quality representative/facilitator for PI Teams and as a consultant to provide basic CQI or statistical tools. Evaluates and makes recommendations for system improvements using quality data, event and regulatory compliance reports. Provides project management to assigned teams by providing leadership to focus areas and by utilizing facilitation and assessment skills to develop evidence-based initiatives. Regulatory Compliance: Applies a current working knowledge of regulatory compliance standards as appropriate to assignment or specialty. Provides consultation and support by developing methods and plans to meet standards, reviewing documents such as policies, procedures, and guidelines for compliance to standards, and assessing compliance to standards to ensure a safe and consistent care environment within assignment or specialty. Patient Safety: Applies a current working knowledge of national, local, and system patient safety standards and trends as appropriate to assignment or specialty. Provides collaboration and consultative support to Risk Management, Compliance, Medical Staff, Nursing, and others by compiling reports with recommendations from appropriate sources, participating in maintenance of applicable Safety Plans, networking across departments and facilities to achieve objectives and goals, participate or facilitate patient safety improvement teams, and engages and interacts with staff at all levels to encourage ownership of initiatives. Practice Standardization and Policies: Advocate and support standardization by educating focus areas to centrally developed policies, procedures, processes, and forms and assisting/participating in corporate teams with the development of policies, procedures, processes, and forms. Participate in development, implementation, revision, and review of policy, procedures, protocol, guidelines, and forms, when appropriate for focus areas. Education: Provides education to focus areas regarding Quality Monitoring and Improvement, Regulatory Compliance, Patient Safety, and Practice Standardization and Policies. Minimum Qualifications RN Licensure. RN's hired or promoted into this role need to have or obtain their BSN within three years of hire or promotion or Clinical License/Certification 3 years of clinical or healthcare experience. - and - Experience with basic computer programs, statistical analysis, and quality reviews. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a clinical area from an accredited institution (degree will be verified). Quality improvement experience. - and - Project management experience. **Physical Requirements:** Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, etc. and to see to identify equipment and supplies and to utilize a wide variety of information including organizing and completing documentation and forms, accessing and entering computer information, and identifying needs and urgent issues. - and - Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing. - and - Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. - and - See and read computer monitors and documents. - and - Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment. - and - May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching. **Location:** SelectHealth - Murray **Work City:** Murray **Work State:** Utah **Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 40 The hourly range for this position is listed below.
